It has been the fashion of late by our friends of Pea Patch Post and News From the Crib blogs to take a look at baby footwear. This is a timely topic for us as Eli just got two new pairs of shoes. But first, I've got to say that there are two things cuter than baby shoes: baby socks and baby toes!
Here's Eli in one of my favorite pairs of striped socks (thanks, Jung). He has quite the sock collection with several striped pairs, a dinosaur pair, "athletic" styles, etc. He had a lot of booties too, but he's mostly outgrown them and they never stayed on his feet anyway. In fact, Eli wears shoes most of the time because we can't keep socks on the boy and as many of you know we live in a big old drafty house so the poor baby goes around with cold feet about half the time. Ah, well, if anyone has a better plan other than duct taping the socks on the feet, let me know.

And here are those baby toes.....poor Eli, he is blessed with, well let's just call it a firm foundation.

And here he is with the retired sneakers, which were a gift from one of Chris' grad students (thank you, Yuan). They served us well and Eli not only outgrew them, he completely wore them out by constantly kicking his feet and pushing his heels.

So here we go folks, Eli in his new (well new to us) big boy shoes. Chris calls them his "hush puppy" shoes. He's holding his old (white) and new (blue) sneakers as well.
