Going picnicking at the river is one of our favorite past times. Ezra is quickly catching up with Eli in his love of wading, but throwing rocks into the water is still at the top of Ezra's list. Ezra wasn't about to be stopped from following Eli into the water on Saturday though - shoes or no shoes!

Three Dogs, a Flock of Chickens, a Herd of Goats, One Wedding and a Reception
and that was a-plenty!
Eli had a huge weekend visiting Papaw and going to a cousin's wedding on the river. We were very nervous about taking Eli and Ezra to the wedding, but they did really well. Eli remained more or less out of the river and pretty quiet during the ceremony. Ezra flirted with everyone as usual. We actually got the "better" part of this for better or worse deal!

Peace and Quiet
A moment of peace and quiet is rarer than the proverbial hen's teeth at our house. Believe me when I say this is an extraordinary view of our boys.
Gorgeous doesn't cover it when speaking of the view from the main lodge at Pipestem State Park.
Chris and I had to go all the way to West Virginia to find another moment as quiet.
The hamlet of Bramwell is unassuming now, but was once home to the biggest Big Daddies of the coal business.Gorgeous doesn't cover it when speaking of the view from the main lodge at Pipestem State Park.
To be sure of peacefulness we stayed at a small lodge at the bottom of the canyon (yes there are such in W.V.)
The peaceful Bluestone River steps away from our room.
ahhhhh.....
