Busy Weekend

Eli has had a really busy (and good) weekend. First he and Seamus came to a mutual understanding about the blanket ownership.

Then Eli and Daddy read their books

Then Grandpa and Grandma came to visit

Then Eli and Daddy played with Daddy's new birthday present - a bike trailer/jogging stroller, which he and Eli can use for some quality time.

Then Eli did a little daydreaming about when he has long legs. Quite the weekend!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Eli sends out a big (very excited) Happy Birthday to his Daddy!
Oooo, this stuff is fun! I love Birthdays - even if it isn't mine.
Can I eat it? ......Are you sure?

Six Months

Eli celebrated his six-month birthday last week and he passed several milestones all at once. He has fully mastered rolling over in both directions and he is getting pretty good (although not totally trustworthy) at sitting up by himself. He is also starting to try to get up on his hands and knees in the crawl position.

He loves to help me out in the yard. I'm really glad about this since I could use some help with the weeds. Here is our little garden baby enjoying the sunshine today.
And here is a little video clip from last night. It is very dark, but the best part is the sound anyway. Eli loves for Chris to "get" him and gives us a real concert of laughs, giggles, and squeals. It is the cutest!

Twin City Tri-Baby Summit

We're behind the times since Pea Patch Post and News from the Crib have already reported on the important meeting of Jed, Eli, and Ellie. Much was discussed and I'm sure they are close to resolution on important matters of state. Eli states that he had a great time meeting everybody! We unfortunately don't have any photos since the dumb camera batteries were dead, so follow those links above and get a look at all the baby cuteness. I'm pretty sure we overwhelmed the restaurant patrons and staff - we'll say it was the cuteness that did it. In any case, it was really wonderful to see old friends and new babies alike.

So here's a photo from this morning for your viewing enjoyment. Eli's still working hard on the two-way roll over......

It Doesn't Get Much Better

There isn't much in the way of news to report right now, but somehow this has been a wonderful period for us to really enjoy our beautiful baby boy. He is truly wonderful. Eli is growing so fast and he changes so quickly. He's still not mastered rolling over in both directions, but he's working pretty hard on sitting up by himself. He jabbers, squeals, and LOVES to make 'raspberry' noises. He's a very happy baby. He sits in his seat waiting for us to look at him and say "HI." He knows this is the cue for a big smile. He's gotten very curious about things and he has fully mastered reaching out and grabbing stuff - everything, actually including, but not limited to, Chris' glasses, my hair, our noses, the coffee pot, the diaper pail, the cats (they have so far been too quick for him), Eli's own feet, the stack of wash clothes on the changing table, and the newspaper.

I call this one, attack of the curious baby - this is what we see a lot of these days.
