Eli's Summer Vacation

We all had a great time on Eli's first summer vacation. We stayed at Greenbrier State Forest, WV, which is beautiful and the CCC-built cabin was wonderful. Eli's fun things to do list:
1) wade in the circular kiddie pool
2) put my feet in the creek
3) push my cart in the mossy grass and pick up pine cones
4) eat said pine cones when the parents aren't looking
5) ride on the Greenbrier River Trail
6) go to concert in Lewisburg and dance
7) swing on the swing set
Mama and Daddy's fun things to do list
1) all of the above
2) read quietly on the front porch
3) go out on a lunch date thanks to Grandpa and Grandma keeping Eli

Giddy-up

Let's go faster, Daddy!

I am so proud of myself!
Just one more little step.......
Eli celebrated his 9-month birthday last week. Our visit to the doctor confirmed what we already knew, he's growing like a weed! He is now nearly 21 pounds and is 2'-6".

Movin' On

So Eli is now a very mobile boy and I'm a very busy mama trying to keep an eye on him. He can pull up on anything and creep along the furniture. See the bed pillow on the end table shelf? That's my attempt to keep him from climbing over it and getting behind the couch.
He's now moved fully to crawling on all fours - much faster!
And, he can walk by himself using his cart. Fortunately he's not figured out how to steer very well, so he pretty much just does straight lines in whatever direction the cart is pointed. See the moving boxes behind him? No, we aren't packing or even unpacking, that is part of our elaborate tv/vcr/electrical outlet baby proofing system. Now if I could only figure out how to baby-proof the cats we'd be all set.
He can climb up our stairs too, but I didn't get a picture of that - had to run get him down before he rolled down!
