Poor Ezra got a nasty cold with fever on Friday and had to go to the doctor for his birthday. Not a nice present at all.
Then, to add to the insanity, we had previously scheduled to have our staircase and upper hall floors refinished beginning on Monday - meaning the boys and I had to leave Sunday afternoon and camp out at Grandpa and Grandma's house all week.
Ezra got lots of fun toys and had a good time at his party despite the fever, but I think the best gift of all was last night when we put him in his own crib to go to bed!
Ezra's vocabulary and talking are expanding daily. Eli seems to love the fact that he and Ezra can now 'chat'. Ezra, for his part, wants to hold up his end of all conversations - his default answer is "yeah."
Today at lunch....
Eli: "Ezzy, are you going to eat your carrots and dip?"
Ezra: "Yeah."
Eli: "Ezzy, are you going to eat your sandwich?"
Ezra: "Yeah."
Eli: "Ezzy, are you goig to eat your chair?"
Ezra: "Yeah."
Yes. Well. Despite that bit of big brother trickery, Ezra can follow lots of conversations and correctly uses phrases like "Right there" as in "sit right there and read me a book;" "Whas 'dat?;" "I do" or "self"; and "Choo-choo, woo-woo" as in "trains are my favorite thing in the whole world and that's what they sound like."
So here's some shots from the Choo-Choo Party
