The Gardener

Eli has really grown and changed in the last few weeks. His vocabulary has expanded a great deal to include words like wa-wa (water), 'ain (rain), along with favorites such as ka-ka (cracker), ka (car), buh-bahhh (bubbles), ball, dog, cat, mouth, eyes, nose, ear, hair, etc. The best part is the southern accent he puts on all of them. To put it kindly, Chris and I apparently speak in a strong vernacular. Anyway, Eli also knows many more words that he doesn't say regularly. He can point out pictures in "Baby's First 100 Words" like a house a-fire.

Eli loves to copy anything we are doing: sweeping, vacuuming, gardening are especially fun. He's very strong and enjoys doing "real" things like carrying a bag in from the car. Chris even had him toting the full-size shovel around the house from the garage recently.

He is also in the throes of a major growth spurt judging from the amount of food that has been required the past few days. He just finished his second bowl of cherrios and bananas, although I think the second helping may have been a ploy to get to drink more sweetened milk out of the cereal bowl.

So here is the star of the show doing a little gardening.
